Why Do I Use AI?

AI is simply one of the tools I use to create some of my colouring books. It isn't my business, it isn't my identity, and it certainly isn't the only thing I do.

Before I ever used AI, I'd already spent years learning print-on-demand, publishing, digital products, design software and the many different platforms involved in running an online business. AI became another skill to learn, just like everything else I've taught myself over the years.

People often assume that creating an AI colouring book means typing a single sentence into a computer and receiving a finished book a few minutes later. That hasn't been my experience.

Every book starts with an idea. I decide the theme, think of the relatable scenes and quotes, experiment with prompts, reject countless results that aren't right, edit, refine and organise everything into a finished book. AI doesn't decide what goes into my books—I do.

I've often described it as this: I have a creative mind, not artistic ability. AI is simply my pen.

I don't claim to be an illustrator, and none of my books claim to be hand-drawn. I use the tools that allow me to bring my ideas to life, just as I've spent years learning every other tool that helps me build my business.
