What Does "AI Slop" Mean?

I'd never even heard the term AI slop until one of my colouring book videos started reaching hundreds of thousands of people.

From what I've seen, it's a phrase people use to describe AI-generated content they believe is low effort, mass-produced or created with very little creativity.

I understand why that opinion exists. There are AI products online that appear to have had very little time or thought put into them.

What I find interesting is that many of these opinions are formed after seeing nothing more than the front cover of one of my books or a short social media video. They haven't seen the pages inside, the process behind creating them, or the amount of time that goes into turning an idea into a finished colouring book.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that my books are created from a single prompt in a matter of minutes. That simply isn't my experience.

Creating my colouring books is a long process of experimenting, refining prompts, rejecting designs that don't work, correcting mistakes, editing, reorganising pages and continually making changes until they match the idea I already have in my head. It can be repetitive, frustrating and time-consuming, but that's the reality of my workflow.

The creativity comes from me. AI is simply one of the tools I use to bring those ideas to life.

Whether someone likes AI or dislikes it is entirely their choice. My aim here isn't to change anyone's opinion—it's simply to explain that the process behind my colouring books is far more involved than many people assume after seeing a cover or a short video.
